HiOwner (hiowner.in) is an online rental platform for Pune and Bangalore that helps people find flats, houses, rooms and flatmates listed directly by owners. In this policy, “we” means HiOwner. You can reach us at ceo@hiowner.in.

Listings on HiOwner come from two sources:

• Rental posts that owners and tenants have shared publicly online for rentals in Pune and Bangalore. We show the details of the post, including the contact number the poster chose to publish, so that tenants can reach the owner directly.
• Properties that owners submit to us through the Post Property form.

We use automated tools, including AI services, to read the text of a post, screen out brokers and extract details such as rent, deposit, locality and contact number. If you posted something that appears on HiOwner and want it changed or removed, use “Report / Update this listing” on the listing page or email ceo@hiowner.in with the listing link.

• Post Property form: your name, phone number, property details and photos, and the IP address the form was sent from (to prevent spam and misuse).
• Reports and feedback: the reason you choose and any details you type when you report or update a listing.
• Emails: anything you send us at ceo@hiowner.in.

• Server logs: like most websites, our servers record your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of the visit. We use these to keep the site secure and working, and keep them for a limited time.
• Settings in your browser: the city you chose and your cookie choice are stored in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers them.

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Necessary purposes: making the site work and remembering your choices.
• Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand which pages are used, so we can improve the site. Google may process this data as described in its own privacy policy.
• Advertising: we show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com), and learn about other vendors’ opt-outs at www.aboutads.info. You can also change your choice on HiOwner at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page — choosing Reject turns off analytics and advertising cookies for HiOwner in your browser.

• To show rental listings and let tenants contact owners directly.
• To review and publish properties submitted through the Post Property form.
• To keep listings accurate, act on reports, and keep brokers, spam and fraud off the site.
• To measure and improve the site, and to show ads that keep HiOwner free.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information only with service providers that help us run HiOwner: our hosting provider (Amazon Web Services), Google (analytics and advertising), and AI service providers that process listing text to classify and extract details. Listing details, including published contact numbers, are visible to anyone who visits the site. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Listings stay on the site while they are relevant to renters; you can ask for removal at any time. Post Property submissions and reports are kept as long as needed to review them and keep the site trustworthy. Server logs are kept for a limited time.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to remove a listing, by emailing ceo@hiowner.in. We will respond within a reasonable time, in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

HiOwner is meant for adults looking for or offering rental homes. It is not directed at children under 18.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
